Misguided negotiation technique of making a concession without requiring the other party to do the same

Origin

From a course with Gavin Kennedy, and his book Everything is Negotiable (1985). It alludes to a putative old folk tale from { insert favourite snowy forest } in which a a sledder carrying carcasses is bothered by a chasing wolf. He tosses the wolf a morsel and it stops following him. Next time two wolves… etc etc
