definition

as innocent as a nun at a bus stop expression or saying

To all appearances, throughly innocuous

A line Mark wrote for a Philip Marlow-esque character in the PW interactive videodisc traning programme Account Ability. Colleagues from the time still quote it back at him occasionally 40 years on

Mark – 1980s
Mark Iliff – owner

Notes

Probably inspired by a story from the Colwyn Bay local papers gleefully retailed by Uncle Tony in the 1960s: the Welsh Mountain Zoo received a call to say one of their penguins had escaped and was waiting at a bus stop. It proved to be a nun
