”Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise” was considered old in 1496 (in A Treatise of Fishing with an Angle, part of the Book of St Albans, written by Juliana Berners, a prioress). If you need more indicators than that that it belongs to a bygone age then you must be very picky indeed.
