Pinchmi-Wel song/verse fragment

A little-known acquaintance of Adam and Eve

Origin

From a gotcha rhyme (see notes)

Collector

Mum – 1940s
Pauline Iliff (Dixon) – mother of Mark, JM, G & Bel

Notes

The rhyme:
Adam and Eve and Pinchmi-Wel went down to the sea to bathe
Adam and Eve were drowned. Who do you think was saved?

…and upon hearing the right answer the teller would acceed to the listener’s request to “pinch me well”. Untold hilarity would ensue

I knew that riddle, but with Pinch-me as the survivor. I think Pinchmi-Wel is overdoing it!

@CC: I'll tell my mum next time I see her!
