boom and scrunch noun

The parlour game zoom and screech

Origin

Cherished malapropism from the Queen Mother

Collector

Mark – 1970s
Mark Iliff – owner

Notes

The big brother of one of Mark’s friends served on RY Britannia, and reported this variation.

Zoom & screech is one of those “we used to make our own entertainment” games. 6-12 people sit in a circuit round the room. One person starts by saying “zoom”. The person to their left says the same, and so on round the room. However any player can instead say “screech”, in which case play reverses. Hilarity ensues
