It turns out to have been a nursery rhym which was commercialised by US band The Ames Brothers circa 1958
Granny Dixon – 1950s
Marion Dixon (Howes) – mother of Mum, spouse of Pop
One version of the nursery rhyme:
I saw Esau sitting an a seesaw
I saw Esau kissing Kate
The fact is we all three saw
For I saw him
And he saw me
And she saw I saw Esau
