A frequent exchange with Georgina that lives on in my mind. When telling an anecdote where you come out of it rather well and appear self-satisfied, and are rightly accused of being smug, you embrace the allegation by saying you are collecting ‘smug points’. It has the advantage of appearing smug squared!
